Filipino card game WatchList wins Best Party Game in Bangkok International Game Festival 2026 “WatchList” wins BIG in BIGF!

Bangkok, Thailand - Sept 20, 2026 - WatchList, a Filipino-designed card game, was named the Best Party Game in the recently concluded Bangkok International Game Festival 2026 (BIGF 2026), which was held from August 28 to 30, 2026 in TK Park, centralwOrld, in Bangkok, Thailand.

“This recognition at BiGF means a lot to us,” Ron Villaver, game designer of WatchList, said. “We designed WatchList to be an accessible, engaging party experience, and we’re grateful that it resonated with players and the festival’s judging community.”

WatchList is a cooperative game where players, split between one “informant” and multiple “agents”, must work together to identify and retrieve their targets by asking questions about them, answerable only by Yes or No.

Designed by Filipino veteran designer Ron Villaver and published by Larong Atin, WatchList has since been showcased in multiple countries across Asia, including the Asian Board Games Festival in Singapore and Malaysia. The party game has been licensed for a French Language release under the name “Kitala” by Locomuse Studio, set to debut in Essen Spiel 2026 in October.

“Showcasing Filipino design to the world isn’t just about being seen, it’s about proving that Filipinos can create work with heart, skill, and impact that stands proudly on the global stage.” Freddie Tan, president of Larong Atin and head of the BIGF delegation, said.

The Bangkok International Game Festival is a three-day tabletop board gaming event that highlights different designers and publishers from all over Asia and the world. This year’s BIGF also featured Daniele Tascini, a veteran designer who designed games such as Tzolk'in: The Mayan Calendar and The Voyages of Marco Polo and Thai Board Game Journey 2026, where hopeful board game designers pitch their games to the international design community.
